AI Incident Response Sprint · 11 to 13 September

Apply to the Bogotá hub

Applications to the Bogotá hub close at midnight on Sunday 6 September, Colombian time. It takes about twenty minutes and there is nothing to prepare beforehand.

Over the three days you get a place to work, meals, connectivity and mentors in the room. If you come from another city, we also cover accommodation. Places are limited, so there is a selection process.

If you would rather see what it is about first, here is the detail of the sprint.

Basics

This is where we tell you if you got in, and where we send the venue.
City and country.
If you do not have one, paste another profile that shows what you have worked on.
Anything of yours we can open: a repository, publications, a piece of writing, a project.

Your background

We ask for no credentials and no prior experience in AI safety. Knowing where you come from helps us with selection, and it makes it easier for you to find a team on Friday.

What you study or where you work, and for how long.

A course, a reading group, an article that stayed with you, a project, a talk. If you have never come across the topic, write exactly that: the sprint is open to people arriving for the first time and it does not disqualify you.

What brought you here and what you hope to leave the weekend with.

The selection question

There is only one and it is the one that really counts. Answer with your own reasoning: we do not accept applications written by a model.

Up to about 200 words. We are not looking for a finished proposal; we want to see whether you can picture something concrete and doable in a weekend.

Which of the five tracks appeals to you most? *It is not a commitment. Teams form on Friday and you may well end up on another one.
Are you applying alone or with a team? *Teams are one to five people. If you apply alone, on Friday evening we put teams together in the room with everyone else in the same situation.
How would you get to Bogotá? *This helps us organise. If you come from another city we cover accommodation; travel to Bogotá is on you.

So the weekend works for you

Dietary restrictions, accessibility, timing, caring for someone. Whatever you tell us here we take into account when organising.

Genuinely optional. If nothing comes to mind, leave it blank.

Before you send it

We use what you tell us for two things: choosing who takes part and organising the weekend well. If you are selected, the other participants will see your name, what you are doing and the track you chose. That is how someone who arrives without a team finds one. Your email and your answers to the last two questions stay with us. If at any point you want us to delete your data, write to us at [email protected].

What you write is kept in this browser until you send it.
